The USS aims at;
1. Promoting the collection, compilation, tabulation, analysis and publication of Statistics in public and private agencies in Uganda.
2. Stimulation and promotion of research in Statistics, its teaching and applications in planning and decision making in public and private agencies in Uganda.
3. Sensitizing decision makers and the public in general on the vital role of Statistics in Planning and decision-making.
4. Communicating and making partnerships with other institutions and international organizations engaged in research, teaching and application of statistics outside Uganda.
5. Promotion of professionalism and professional ethics
A professional association that promotes the discipline of Statistics.
To promote the use of statistics for evidence based policy and decision making in the public and private sector.
To improve the quality of statistics produced through professional practices.
